PERMANENT-MAGNET ROTOR KITS

Magnetic
potential.
Real motion.

Build-to-spec rotor kits for motor developers. We coordinate magnet sourcing, rotor hardware, contracted assembly and verification into one quoted prototype package.

  • US-ORIGIN · ALLIED · GLOBAL ROUTES
  • DOCUMENTED COUNTRY OF ORIGIN
  • NdFeB · SmCo · PROTOTYPE & LOW VOLUME

See the package
before you spec it.

Orbit a reference rotor, change the pole count and pull the magnet set apart to see what a kit contains: segments, hub and carrier, end rings and retention.

Or open your own STL, OBJ or GLB. The file is read by your browser and never leaves your device.

  • Illustrative geometry, not a magnetic simulation
  • No upload, no account, nothing submitted
  • Do not load export-controlled models

The rotor is yours.
The coordination is ours.

Rathlo helps commercial motor developers move from a rotor requirement to a quoted prototype package. We coordinate magnet sourcing, supporting hardware, contracted assembly and inspection, with the supply route selected for performance, cost, lead time and required provenance.

Rotor package

01

Magnet set

NdFeB or SmCo segments matched to drawing, grade, coating and temperature requirement.

02

Rotor hardware

Customer-specified or quoted hub, carrier, sleeve and retention features.

03

Integration

Bonding, encapsulation or mechanical retention through a contracted specialist.

Verification & options

04

Standard evidence

Dimensional results, pole orientation, surface-flux readings and available supplier certificates.

05

Optional services

Field mapping, environmental testing and dynamic balancing when included in the quotation.

06

Traceability

Documented supplier, batch and declared country of origin for quoted components.

Prototype and
low-volume rotors.

Initial engagements suit teams that have a drawing or envelope, defined operating conditions and a measurable magnetic or motor-performance target.

From requirement
to evidence pack.

Nothing is ordered until you approve a written quote. Every build ends with the documents that show what was made, where it came from and how it measured.

  1. 01

    RFQ review

Geometry, environment, field target, quantity and sourcing constraints.

  2. 02

    Written quote

Defined suppliers, work scope, evidence, exclusions, price and lead time.

  3. 03

    Prototype build

Material ordered after approval and deposit. Milestones tracked to delivery.

  4. 04

    Evidence pack

Inspection results and available material and origin documents delivered with the parts.

US-origin, allied
or global. Your call,
documented.

Every quote names the route, the suppliers and the declared country of origin for each component, so you choose provenance knowingly, not by accident.

Rathlo’s team comes from U.S. import, customs and tariff work (Import Gateway), so landed cost, duties and origin paperwork are part of every quote.

ROUTE A

US-origin

Domestic magnet and rotor partners where available.

DOCUMENTED
Supplier declarations of country of origin for magnets and quoted components; batch records.
TRADE-OFFS
Highest provenance; subject to available capacity, grade range and longer lead times. Typically a higher unit cost.
ROUTE B

Allied-origin

Non-China sources such as Japan, the EU and other allied suppliers.

DOCUMENTED
Declared country of origin, supplier certificates and import paperwork.
TRADE-OFFS
Often wider grade and geometry options than domestic supply; duties and freight vary by country. Mid-range cost and lead time.
ROUTE C

Global / commercial

Lowest-cost commercial supply, with origin declared.

DOCUMENTED
Declared country of origin and available supplier certificates.
TRADE-OFFS
Fastest and lowest unit price in many cases, but Chinese-origin material may carry export-licence risk and Section 301 duty, and is unsuitable for restricted programs.

Why origin matters now

STATUS AS OF LATE OCTOBER 2026 · NOT LEGAL ADVICE

CHINA · EXPORT LICENSING

Licences for SmCo and Dy/Tb-containing NdFeB

Since April 2025, China requires export licences for samarium-cobalt magnet materials and NdFeB magnet materials containing dysprosium or terbium (MOFCOM/GAC Announcement No. 18 of 2025). A broader October 2025 package is suspended; as of late October 2026 the published suspension runs to 10 November 2026, with an extension to 10 January 2027 reported but not yet published.

U.S. · SECTION 301

25% additional duty on Chinese permanent magnets

Since 1 January 2026, permanent magnets that are products of China (HTS 8505.11.00) carry a 25% Section 301 duty on top of the 2.1% general rate. Other tariff actions may also apply; we confirm the current stack at quote time.

U.S. DEFENSE · DFARS 225.7018

Mine-to-magnet restriction from 1 January 2027

For U.S. defense acquisitions, the restriction on NdFeB and SmCo magnets from China, Russia, North Korea and Iran widens on 1 January 2027 from melting and magnet production to the full chain: mining, refining and separation through finished magnets, subject to listed exceptions.

What Rathlo does today, and what it does not.

Rathlo currently coordinates design review, sourcing, contracted production and verification. Manufacturing, assembly, magnetization, balancing and specialized testing are performed by qualified third parties only when identified in the written quotation. No U.S.-origin, defense-compliance or performance certification is implied unless expressly included.

From earth.
To field.

Our longer-term ambition extends upstream, toward rare-earth extraction, refining and recovery connected to the products motor builders need.

Development roadmap only. Rathlo does not operate mining, refining, recycling or magnet-making today.

STEP 1 OF 8

Who should we reply to?

We use these details only to respond to this request.

Draft saved in this browser only until you send it. By sending, you agree we may use these details to respond (see privacy).

Straight
answers.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

No fixed minimum is published. Single prototypes and short runs are in scope; the quote states the practical minimums of the suppliers on your route.

What lead time should we expect?

Lead time is quoted per project. It depends on grade, geometry, coating, origin route and the services you include, and is stated in the written quote before you commit.

What origin documentation do we receive?

For quoted components we document the supplier, batch and declared country of origin, together with available supplier certificates. Origin is as declared by suppliers; we do not certify it ourselves.

Can you guarantee U.S. origin or DFARS compliance?

Not by default. A US-origin route is available where domestic capacity exists. Any Buy American, TAA, DFARS or other compliance statement applies only if it is expressly written into the quotation.

Will you sign an NDA?

Yes. A mutual NDA is available, and we can sign it before you send drawings or before anything is shared with a supplier.

Can I send drawings or CAD files with the RFQ?

Yes. Attach up to 5 files of 100 MB each in the Sourcing step: STEP/STP, IGES/IGS, X_T/X_B, SLDPRT/SLDASM, IPT/IAM, STL, OBJ, GLB, DXF, DWG, PDF or ZIP. Files are stored privately, are never public, and are shared with suppliers only after you approve. Do not attach ITAR, EAR-controlled or otherwise export-controlled data; you confirm this before uploading.

Do you manufacture in-house?

No. Rathlo coordinates design review, sourcing, contracted production and verification. Manufacturing, assembly, magnetization, balancing and specialized testing are carried out by qualified third parties named in the quote.

What don’t you do?

We do not design motors, run electromagnetic simulations as a service, mine or refine rare earths, or handle export-controlled data through public channels. Mining, refining and recovery are on our roadmap, not offered today.

What does the quote include?

Defined suppliers, work scope, evidence to be delivered, exclusions, landed price including expected duties, and lead time. Material is ordered only after approval and deposit.
